Do You Have What It Takes!?

Why Hello There!,

There are a few things that are vital in order to have natural hair. Some may think that it may be easy, but you have NO IDEA (lol)! Anyways, here are a few tips...

You Have to Have:

1. Correct Reasoning: If you want to go natural, you must do it for the right reasons. Going natural because more people are doing it or because it looks cute on someone else are not good reasons to go natural. Do it because you want to. Nothing that anyone has to say should be a factor as to why you should go natural.

2. Knowledge: Know what you are getting yourself into. I have been natural for a year now and I have yet to learn everything. Even when I went natural, I did not think too much about how to treat my hair, products, and things of that nature. I wish that I could have thought about it then, but I have learned more throughout the year. Learn different styles, good/bad ingredients for hair and general information that will help you along your journey. You can also visit YouTube and online blogs to help you. It surely does help!

3. Care: Care sort of goes hand-and-hand with knowledge, but learning the right way to care for your hair is very important. Everything that is done to your hair whether it is shampooing, styling, or straightening it, it all has an affect on your hair. Cleansing, Trimming, Protecting are all major factors in taking care of hair. Taking good care of your hair will help the overall health of your hair.

4. Persistence: This is one thing that I struggle with when it comes to my hair. Having persistence is major because it will get a person accustomed to treating your hair on a certain basis. Having a routine is good. If not, problems can occur such as single-strand knots or tangled hair.

5. Time: Set aside time to do your hair! It is not bad to occasionally do a quick wash and go, but if you work all of the time and have absolutely have no time to tend to your hair, then it may not be the time for you to go natural yet. If your hair is not that long(as in a low cut), it may different story because there may not be as much to do styling-wise, but regardless you should set time aside

6. Confidence: You must have confidence! Many people do not want to even go natural because they lack confidence, but if you do not feel confident, you won't look confident. Rock it, natural hair is so versatile and unique that it is hard not to feel good about it.

7. Patience: Last, but not least one of the most important factors is patience. Patience is key in everything...especially your hair! It may take you a little to figure out what products work well with your hair, how to style your hair and for your hair to grow. It will take time so just sit back, relax, and let the magic happen. It will be worth it : )

Thanks!
